1. Why are the patriarchs good examples of people of faith?
2. In what ways does the gift of faith help us?
Social Studies - Choose an event from the lesson, such as the escape from Egypt. Write a news article about the event. Be sure to add an interesting headline.

Grade 7:
Religion -
1. What is the definition of the Word of God?
2. How does reading the Gospel of John help us to know about God's love for us?
Social Studies - Finish the Spanish Conquistador class project if you did not finish in class.

Grade 8:
Religion - What ways of keeping the eighth commandment are difficult for you? Define reparation and use it in a sentence.
Social Studies - Read pages 478-481. Then answer:
1. Where did most soldiers live during the Civil War?
2. Why were the new rifles preferable to muskets?

Social Studies - Study the map on page 73. Then answer: Moses and his followers passed an important mountain. What was its name?

Grade 7:
Religion - Search for a current event that illustrates a common "addiction" in our society. Then analyze and write the current event through the lens of one of the Beatitudes.
Social Studies - No homework (Spelling Test today)

Grade 8:
Religion - Write a paragraph on how you can observe the seventh commandment today.
Social Studies - Create a story map detailing the story leading up to the Emancipation Proclamation.
The four steps of plot development in story maps are:
1) introduction to the problem
2) roadblocks
3) climax or high point
4) solution
