Science Fair -Update

The Science Fair project is "just around the corner" (idiom)! This morning, Mr. V came to our class to answer questions regarding our project. He even dropped off a sample board for us to use as a guide!

I know that choosing a project is hard enough, so here are some helpful tips that can get the "ball rolling" (another idiom!).

Science fair project come from asking questions around how things work, or why they are the way they are, and then applying the scientific method to get real and useful information. Ever wondered how tornadoes worked? You might enjoy doing a tornado science project!

Here are some helpful questions to get you started:
  • What is this made of?
  • How did it form?
  • What can be used for?
  • Is this created by a natural process or by humans?
  • Why is it this particular color/texture?
  • Does it float or sink? Why?
These are just a few questions that could apply to almost anything!

For more help, download the Science Fair project folder located on the top-right corner of this blog, inside the box.net folder.

I'll put up more helpful tips in the next few days. If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to ask me in class.

Good luck!

Mr. LaFrossia
